Recent Advances in Brain-Computer Interfaces

دکتر عباس عرفانیان

Over the past decade, many efforts have been done to use the brain signals as a new communication channel between human brain and computer. This new communication channel is called brain–computer interface (BCI). Effective attempts have been done to improve the accuracy and capacity of the BCI systems. In addition to the employment of different signal processing approaches, some researchers have investigated the role of EEG biofeedback, response verification, and mental training on brain control. Nevertheless, there are several challenges involved in employing BCI for real-world tasks. In this talk, after a review of state-of-art in BCI, we concentrate on outlining the challenges that remain in designing BCI from the laboratory to real-world and present an overview of our ongoing research projects on BCI.
