An Analytic Approach for Estimation of Maximum Power Point in Solar Cars

In this paper a new maximum power point tracker(MPPT) for a moving solar module is proposed. In these cases,multiple peaks are introduced in the PV array curves (due to theshadow effect) and it is difficult to find and track the new MPP,in order to extract maximum PV power. Hence, a simpleanalytical MPPT approach is introduced which is easy toimplement and could overcome the mentioned problem. Theproposed method is also fast enough to accurately track theMPP in different environmental circumstances. The feasibilityand effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed usingmodeling in MATLAB environment.
