A New ROI and Block Based Watermarking Scheme Using DWT

Abstract:
In this paper, a novel blind and robust imagewatermarking algorithm based on Region of Interest (ROI) inDiscrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) domain is proposed. In awatermarking scheme, watermark generation from the content ofthe image can improve the invisibility and robustness of thescheme. So in this paper, the ROI of original image is extractedand used as watermark image. Then, 1-level DWT is applied tothe watermark and each LL coefficient is embedded into the lowfrequency sub band of a selected block of the original image. It isshown that the proposed scheme provides high degree of securityand transparency of the watermarked image. In addition, thistechnique is highly robust against common attacks spatiallyJPEG compression with the low quality factors.
